Our Founder

Juan Barbosa founded Code Stewards in 2020.

Born and raised in Puerto Rico, Juan has a bachelor’s degree in hardware engineering and more than a decade of experience in software development and QA testing. He’s worked for two Fortune 500 companies and a tech startup, experiencing the extremes of the tech world.

Juan accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior in 2008. He has worked in assisting churches in software matters and youth ministry since 2009 and retired in 2020 when he saw that Code Stewards was going to become his main focus; he does continue serving the youth through mentorship. His favorite book of the Bible is Revelations and he enjoys researching prophesy.

After a missionary trip to Cuba in 2017 and experiencing communism, Juan made it his mission for serving the global community and he sees Code Stewards as a means to that end.
